This funding opportunity supports projects that advance discovery, preclinical development, and proof of concept testing of new candidate agents and neurostimulation approaches to treat mental disorders, substance use disorders, and alcohol use disorder. It also funds development of novel ligands and circuit-engagement devices to characterize or validate drug/device targets. Partnerships between academia and industry are strongly encouraged. Projects must be discrete and led by named investigators with specific expertise.
