The NCI Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program funds postdoctoral researchers with research or clinical doctorates to transition to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. It provides independent NCI research support during this transition to help launch competitive research careers. A clinical trial is required as part of the funded research activities.
Eligible applicants include postdoctoral researchers transitioning to independent faculty roles. Eligible organizations include public housing authorities, tribal governments, educational institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, and various government entities within the United States.
