This funding opportunity supports innovative research investigating causal hypotheses on how human behaviors impact oral-systemic health among individuals with chronic conditions. Research may explore biological, psychological, environmental, and other factors triggering behaviors and health outcomes. Projects developing or refining causal hypotheses are encouraged. Clinical trials are not allowed under this opportunity.
Eligible applicants include private and public higher education institutions, tribal organizations, nonprofits, state and local governments, small businesses, and for-profit organizations other than small businesses within the United States.
