The HBCU Excellence in Research program supports capacity building at Historically Black Colleges and Universities by funding research projects aligned with NSF's research programs. It aims to strengthen research and development capabilities and foster stronger connections between HBCU researchers and NSF.
Only accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with faculty conducting research in science, engineering, or STEM education may submit proposals. The Principal Investigator must be a full-time faculty member or researcher at the submitting HBCU.
