This grant supports early stage investigators undertaking innovative research projects that represent a change in research direction. Applications must not include preliminary data and must provide a separate attachment describing the change. Clinical trials are not allowed. Eligible applicants include a wide range of nonprofit, academic, government, and tribal organizations. Foreign components and foreign organizations are not eligible.
