This opportunity funds Minority-serving institutions to create CREST Centers that integrate STEM research and education, promote faculty research productivity, and expand participation of underrepresented groups in STEM. Awards support multi-year research projects, leadership in diversity efforts, and partnerships with research centers and educational entities. Supplements are available for current awardees to strengthen collaborations and advance nationally significant research themes.
Eligible applicants are Minority-serving institutions offering graduate degrees in NSF STEM areas with at least 50% enrollment of underrepresented minority students or primarily serving students with disabilities. The PI must be a full-time faculty member at the submitting institution.
