The NSF Research Traineeship program funds proposals that develop innovative, evidence-based training models for graduate students in STEM fields. It supports interdisciplinary or convergent research themes of national priority and emphasizes workforce development, broad participation, and institutional capacity building. Proposals should foster strategic collaborations with private sector, NGOs, government agencies, and academic partners, including minority-serving and emerging research institutions.
Eligible applicants are accredited US institutions of higher education, including two- and four-year colleges and community colleges. Principal Investigators must be faculty members at the submitting institution.
