This grant supports early and conceptual stage exploratory and developmental research projects in biomedical, behavioral, or clinical fields that include at least one clinical trial. It encourages high-risk studies that could lead to breakthroughs or novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications with major impact. Projects must align with the scientific missions of participating NIH Institutes and Centers.
Open to a wide range of organizations including small businesses, governments, nonprofits, institutions of higher education, tribal organizations, and foreign entities. Applicants must propose at least one clinical trial related to NIH ICs' missions.
