This funding opportunity supports exploratory research projects aimed at advancing and technically validating emerging technologies that provide novel capabilities for molecular or cellular cancer characterization or improve biospecimen handling and quality control. Projects must focus on cancer-relevant applications and demonstrate preliminary data overcoming major feasibility gaps. The goal is to accelerate research in cancer biology, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, control, and epidemiology. Hypothesis-driven research using existing technologies is not supported.
Eligible applicants include public housing authorities, state and private higher education institutions, small businesses, government entities, nonprofits, tribal organizations, for-profit organizations, and independent school districts within the United States.
