This funding supports U54 Specialized Centers forming the Metastasis Research Network to advance understanding of cancer metastasis as a whole-body, systems-level problem. Centers will pursue two or three multidisciplinary basic research projects focused on dynamic metastatic processes such as early dissemination, microenvironment crosstalk, dormancy, and therapy responses. Studies on all cancer types, including rare and pediatric, are encouraged.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S. institutions such as private and public higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, government entities, tribal governments, and school districts.
