The NIH Director's New Innovator Award supports early-stage investigators who propose bold and highly innovative biomedical research projects with potential for major impact. Applications in basic, translational, or clinical research areas relevant to NIH's mission are welcome. This award is part of the NIH High-Risk, High-Reward Research program and complements other NIH efforts to fund early-stage investigators.
Eligible applicants include early-stage investigators from a wide range of organizations such as public and private higher education institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, tribal governments, and various government entities. Foreign organizations are not eligible to apply.
