The LSAMP program supports alliances of U.S. higher education institutions to diversify the STEM workforce by increasing STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to underrepresented minorities. Funded projects include alliance development, transfer pathways, graduate degree bridges, research alliances, and networking incentives. The program emphasizes evidence-based strategies to enhance student success, retention, and progression to graduate studies in STEM fields.
Eligible applicants include accredited U.S. institutions of higher education such as two- and four-year colleges, community colleges, and master's comprehensive institutions acting on behalf of their faculty. Eligibility varies by project type within the program.
