This funding opportunity supports domestic institutions to develop career development programs for later stage postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty committed to independent research careers in biomedical and behavioral sciences. It provides protected time for intensive mentored research experiences. While scholars cannot lead independent clinical trials, they may gain clinical trial experience under mentor guidance, promoting clinically relevant research training.
Eligible applicants include domestic nonprofits, institutions of higher education, Native American tribal organizations and governments, faith-based and community-based organizations, federal agencies, and U.S. territories. Foreign organizations and non-domestic components are not eligible to apply.
