This program supports research and activities to translate open-source science and engineering products into secure, sustainable ecosystems. Funded projects may scope, establish, expand, or improve open-source ecosystems in fields like AI, cloud computing, healthcare, manufacturing, and cybersecurity, emphasizing governance, security, and broad community engagement across academia, industry, and government.
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based for-profit organizations, non-profit non-academic organizations, federal agencies, state and local governments, accredited U.S. institutions of higher education, and federally recognized tribal nations.
