Funds high-quality literacy programs that develop school libraries, provide early literacy services including pediatric literacy initiatives, and supply high-quality books to children and adolescents in low-income communities. The program targets children from birth through 12th grade in high-need local educational agencies to improve reading motivation, performance, and long-term literacy outcomes.
Eligible applicants include Native American tribal organizations (excluding federally recognized tribal governments), nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding higher education institutions), independent school districts, and federally recognized Native American tribal governments.
