This program funds analytic and methodological research to improve understanding of the science and technology enterprise. It supports a variety of grant mechanisms including standard grants, REU awards, conferences, dissertation research improvement, CAREER awards, EAGER, and RAPID grants. Proposals are due twice annually, enabling diverse research activities and collaborations primarily at U.S. institutions of higher education.
