This competitive grant supports state and federally recognized tribal governments to create or enhance programs encouraging private landowners to allow public access for hunting, fishing, and wildlife-dependent recreation. Projects can last up to 3 years with awards up to $3 million. Up to 25% of funds may be used for wildlife habitat improvements on enrolled lands. Applications are due June 8, 2026, via Grants.gov.
Eligible applicants are federally recognized Native American tribal governments and state governments. Only these entities may apply for funding.
