This funding supports State Historic Preservation Offices across the US and territories to identify, evaluate, and protect historic properties. Funded activities include surveys, planning, technical assistance, physical preservation, Federal tax incentives, nominations to the National Register of Historic Places, and distribution of funds to Certified Local Governments. Applicants must comply with the National Historic Preservation Act and Secretary of the Interior's Standards.
Eligible applicants include State governments, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education), and others as specified in additional eligibility information.
