The Flood Mitigation Assistance grant provides federal funds to states, territories, tribal governments, and local governments to reduce or eliminate repetitive flood damage risk to buildings insured under the National Flood Insurance Program. It funds a variety of mitigation activities designed to lower flood risk and reduce NFIP’s financial exposure. Applications are submitted through FEMA Grants Outcomes system.
Eligible applicants include state governments, U.S. territories, federally recognized tribal governments, local governments, county governments, city or township governments, and Native American tribal organizations.
