The FY26 ALS Research Program Therapeutic Development Award funds empirical, product-driven research advancing ALS therapeutics from lead compounds through FDA IND-enabling studies. Applications must include proof-of-concept efficacy in ALS preclinical models and integrate mechanism-specific biomarker development to improve trial design and patient selection. Candidates with existing INDs are ineligible. Collaborations with ALS experts are encouraged for those with limited experience.
