This program funds research initiation awards in space and Earth sciences with a total award capped at $300,000 over two years. Proposals require a six-page Science/Technical/Management section and must include a budget narrative and work effort table. Evaluation is by dual-anonymous peer review. An informational webinar is scheduled for June 16, 2026. Applications are submitted via NSPIRES, with Grants.gov submission possible if requested in advance.
Eligibility is broadly defined as "Others" with additional clarifications available in the program text. Organizations of all types, including government, private, for-profit, and non-profit, domestic and foreign, may submit proposals with no restrictions on teaming arrangements.
