This project funds initiatives to develop sustainable maritime legal capacity within Philippine government agencies such as the Office of the Solicitor General and Department of Justice. Activities include technical training, legal advisory support, interagency coordination, professional exchanges, and creation of long-term training frameworks and maritime legal reference materials. The goal is to strengthen institutional expertise in maritime law, UNCLOS, arbitration, litigation strategy, and maritime case development to promote regional stability and lawful commerce.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, excluding institutions of higher education. The focus is on organizations capable of supporting maritime legal capacity building in the Philippines.
