This program funds drought relief projects for federally recognized tribes within the Colorado River Basin. Funded activities include mitigating drought impacts, increasing drought resiliency, reducing reliance on declining water sources, improving water delivery efficiency, and addressing drinking water shortages. Projects must align with Presidential and Department of the Interior priorities and have a maximum award of $1,000,000 per tribe.
Eligible applicants are federally recognized Native American tribal governments within the designated Colorado River Basin tribes. Projects must provide drought relief actions in the Basin. Applicants with enacted Indian Water Rights Settlements may be ineligible.
