This initiative funds research focused on translating addiction epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and recovery research into practice to combat the opioid crisis and overdose events. It supports studies targeting multiple levels including individual, provider, organizational, community, or system. Priority is given to scalable, evidence-based interventions and research on chronic pain comorbid with substance use, employing diverse methods and fostering collaboration between researchers and decision-makers.
Eligible applicants include state and local governments, public housing authorities, tribal governments and organizations, small businesses, for-profit organizations, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education in the United States.
