This initiative funds research aimed at addressing the opioid crisis by accelerating the translation of addiction epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and recovery research into practice. It supports studies at multiple levels including individual, provider, organizational, community, and system. Priority is given to scalable, evidence-based interventions and research on chronic pain comorbid with substance use. Diverse methods and collaborative approaches involving researchers and decision-makers are encouraged.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S.-based institutions such as public and private higher education institutions, tribal organizations, small businesses, nonprofits, and various government entities. Foreign organizations are not eligible to apply.
