This program funds Tribal, state, and local governments and courts to improve criminal justice responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Funded activities include enhancing offender accountability, victim safety, homicide reduction, protection-order enforcement, and coordinated law enforcement and prosecutorial actions treating these offenses as serious criminal violations.
Eligible applicants include state governments, Indian Tribal governments, units of local government, state and local courts, domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions, and victim service providers. Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (excluding higher education institutions) are also eligible.
