The Southwest Border Resource Protection Program funds projects that improve stewardship and protection of natural and cultural resources along the U.S.-Mexico border. It supports scientific research, monitoring, conservation, interpretation, and preservation activities in National Park Service units and cooperating protected areas in Mexico. Projects address shared resource issues such as wildlife habitat management, invasive species monitoring, historic site preservation, and impacts of border activities.
Eligible applicants include public and state-controlled higher education institutions, state and local governments, federally recognized tribal governments, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, and independent school districts.
