The 2027 Innovation Fund competition invests up to $325 million in research infrastructure projects costing over $1 million across all disciplines, including natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, health, social sciences, humanities, and arts. It supports three streams: exploration and knowledge generation, social sciences/humanities/arts, and core facility creation or renewal. The fund aims to strengthen international competitiveness and sustainable research capacity.
Eligible projects must involve acquiring or developing research infrastructure to increase research capacity and support world-class research. Total project costs must exceed $1 million. Further eligibility details are in the program guide and call for proposals.
