This funding supports professors in humanities and social sciences who have demonstrated outstanding research to write extensive scholarly treatises. It finances substitute professorships for leaves of absence lasting 6 to 18 months and provides up to 5,000 Euros per semester for additional non-personnel costs. The program also offers opportunities for early career academics through substitute professorships.
Eligible applicants are professors with a permanent position at a German university who wish to write a large scholarly treatise. Early career academics may apply via substitute professorships.
