Provides up to $250,000 to fund education and training programs that help miners identify and prevent unsafe conditions. Grants prioritize emergency response training, new MSHA standards, and programs targeting miners at smaller, new, or newly opened mines. Eligible applicants include governments, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations. Partnerships are allowed with a designated lead.
Eligible applicants include state, tribal, and local governments, public and private nonprofits, and institutions of higher education in the U.S. Faith-based organizations are encouraged to apply.
