The First Nation Adapt program funds projects led by First Nation communities south of the 60th parallel to assess climate change impacts and enhance resilience. Eligible activities include risk assessments, adaptation option identification, community engagement, Indigenous Knowledge integration, hazard mapping, and small-scale implementation of adaptation actions such as native vegetation planting and flood mitigation measures.
Eligible applicants are First Nation communities and organizations south of the 60th parallel, including Band councils, Tribal councils, and Self-governing First Nations governments. Projects must focus on climate change adaptation.
