The United States Marine Highway Program funds projects that offer coordinated alternatives to landside transportation, aiming to reduce congestion and promote Marine Highway Transportation. Grants support development, expansion, or promotion of Marine Highway routes and encourage shipper use of vessels documented under 46 U.S.C. chapter 121.
Eligible applicants include county, state, city, township, special district, and tribal governments, for-profit organizations (excluding small businesses), nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (excluding higher education), independent school districts, and small businesses.
