This program provides $6 million over three years to Canadian wildland fire and emergency management organizations to improve their use of WildFireSat Earth observation satellite data products. Funded activities include education, expertise development, technology alignment, and organizational capacity building. Up to 75% of project costs are covered, supporting salaries, professional services, training, IT systems, and data processing. Applications are accepted starting October 1, 2025, on an ongoing basis.
Eligible applicants include Provincial and Territorial wildland fire management agencies, Indigenous wildland fire and emergency management entities, the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs.
