This cooperative agreement supports research focused on the rusty patched bumble bee's long-term demography, including site surveys, novel monitoring technologies, sampling effort assessments, and data compilation. The project aims to produce research products that inform recovery strategies and management decisions for endangered bumble bees, leveraging collaboration between USGS and CESU partners. It also includes developing automated monitoring systems to reduce costs and improve data collection.
Eligible applicants must be participating partners of the Great Lakes Northern Forest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. This opportunity is limited to CESU partners capable of conducting bumble bee research.
