The Competitive State Wildlife Grant Program provides Federal cost-sharing awards to State, Territory, and District of Columbia fish and wildlife agencies and their regional associations. It supports proactive conservation programs that benefit species of greatest conservation need and their habitats as identified in Wildlife Action Plans. The program encourages partnerships for landscape-scale conservation and outlines award tiers and Federal share limits to promote cross-jurisdictional efforts.
Only State, Territory, and District of Columbia fish and wildlife agencies and the four regional associations of fish and wildlife agencies are eligible to apply. Academic institutions, non-profits, for-profits, private landowners, individuals, and local governments are not eligible.
