This grant supports Indigenous communities in Nutrition North Canada by funding traditional hunting, harvesting, and food-sharing activities to increase access to country foods. It also funds community food programs such as school and elders' meal initiatives, group ordering, and activities using local and market foods. Flexible funding supports equipment, transportation, training, salaries, cultural ceremonies, and innovation to empower Indigenous governments and organizations.
Eligible applicants are Indigenous organizations representing communities that qualify for the Nutrition North Canada subsidy and rely on air transportation for more than eight months annually. Some eligible communities for the subsidy are excluded if they do not meet the air transportation criterio
