Provides funding to Indigenous peoples and Northerners to engage meaningfully in impact assessments and regulatory processes for major infrastructure and resource extraction projects in Yukon, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and select marine regions. Eligible activities include technical reviews, research, community meetings, Indigenous knowledge documentation, expert retention, and legal representation. Funding up to $500,000 per project per fiscal year supports multiple assessments and requires annual reporting.
Eligible applicants include Indigenous governments, organizations, community groups, experts with specialized knowledge, Indigenous and Northern individuals, and others with direct interest in projects. For-profit organizations and those with commercial interests are ineligible.
