This program funds education, training, and outreach activities focused on FDA's Produce Safety Rule for produce farmers who are members of federally recognized Tribes. It aims to help Tribal farmers access technical assistance and encourages compliance, considering Tribal history, culture, and regional agricultural practices. The program may also include Tribal farmers not currently required to comply but interested in economic benefits of compliance.
Eligible applicants include produce farmers who are members of federally recognized Tribes. The University of Arkansas is the sole source for this grant.
