This program funds the establishment and support of law enforcement accreditation bodies across states and territories. Funded activities include providing technical assistance to agencies, defraying accreditation costs, improving customer service and marketing, and developing policy templates to advance community policing practices.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and tribal governments; public and private institutions of higher education; nonprofit and for-profit organizations; federally recognized Indian tribes; faith-based organizations; and community groups.
