This program advances scientific datasets to enable discovery and innovation using AI and novel methods. It funds projects applying AI for feature extraction, metadata generation, dataset integration, and development of robust data pipelines. Proposals should address dataset security, governance, and leverage existing NSF and national data resources to unlock AI-driven scientific insights and interdisciplinary research.
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based for-profit organizations, non-profit non-academic organizations, federal agencies and FFRDCs, state and local governments, accredited U.S. institutions of higher education, and federally recognized Tribal Nations.
