This program provides competitive grants to eligible government entities to adopt and enhance drone technologies for inspection, operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of critical infrastructure. Funding supports purchasing or leasing drone systems, contracting services, and program management. Priority is given to projects using innovative technologies, improving data management, and addressing multi-jurisdictional complexities to enhance worker safety and inspection efficiency.
Eligible applicants include state, local, tribal governments, metropolitan planning organizations, and consortia of these entities. Non-governmental entities may only participate as contractors or partners, not as applicants.
