This funding supports strategic wildfire fuels management and community fire assistance activities that reduce wildfire intensity and severity. Funded projects include vegetation management, community mitigation, training, monitoring, and hazardous fuels reduction on federal and adjacent lands. The program encourages collaboration with partners to enhance wildfire preparedness and protect communities, aligning with priorities to strengthen partnerships and empower local wildfire risk reduction.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and special district governments; public and state-controlled higher education institutions; federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations; and nonprofits. Individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible
