This funding opportunity supports projects that enhance forest and woodland health, sustainable forest management, fire resiliency, biomass utilization for bioenergy, habitat conservation, and recovery from insect, disease, and fire impacts on public lands. Funded activities include tree planting, thinning, salvage harvest, vegetation control, fuels reduction, project planning, and environmental compliance such as NEPA and ESA clearances. Eligible applicants include various government entities, tribal organizations, and nonprofits.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and special district governments; public and state-controlled higher education institutions; federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations; and nonprofits.
