This program funds research advancing mechanistic understanding of Substance Use Disorder and HIV interactions in the central nervous system using novel single cell biology techniques. It supports studies employing cutting-edge approaches such as RNA splicing analysis, epigenomics, proteomics, and spatial cellular interactions. The goal is to identify candidate mechanisms and therapeutic targets by analyzing human and animal brain tissue datasets under HIV infection, ART, and substance exposure conditions.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of government entities, educational institutions, tribal governments and organizations, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, and other specified groups. Specific eligibility details are provided in the announcement.
