The NIH Director's New Innovator Award supports exceptionally creative early-stage investigators pursuing bold, innovative research with potential to transform important scientific areas relevant to the NIH mission. Applications are accepted across all NIH-relevant fields. This award is part of the NIH Common Fund's High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program and complements other NIH early-stage investigator programs.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of government entities, educational institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, tribal governments, and other specified organizations including foreign institutions.
