This initiative funds rural law enforcement agencies and prosecutors’ offices to implement violent crime reduction strategies addressing specific challenges. Funded activities include hiring personnel, upgrading technology and equipment, enhancing data analytics capabilities, and other approaches that significantly reduce violent crime rates in rural jurisdictions.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, township, special district governments, federally recognized and other Native American tribal governments and organizations, and other local government units such as towns, boroughs, parishes, and villages.
