This grant supports early career investigators conducting pilot cancer research to generate preliminary data for future funding applications. Eligible applicants are Assistant Professors within six years of appointment without prior major cancer-related R01 funding. Up to $40,000 is available primarily for supplies, reagents, and animals. Salary support for the principal investigator or major technician salaries is not allowed. Prior recipients may request a second year of funding for the same project.
