The Affordable and Special Needs Housing Program funds affordable housing projects throughout Virginia using state and federal sources including HOME funds. It supports nonprofit and for-profit developers, CHDOs, and public housing authorities in new construction, rehabilitation, and acquisition of affordable homebuyer and rental units with a minimum of five units. Funding is allocated through a bi-annual competitive application process.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit or for-profit housing developers, CHDOs, and public housing authorities developing affordable housing projects in Virginia.
