This funding supports California public libraries to establish USDA summer meal sites and deliver enrichment programming such as literacy, nutrition education, arts, and wellness activities. Libraries can also operate pop-up libraries at other USDA community meal sites like parks and schools. Applications are non-competitive and open to all eligible California public libraries participating in the Lunch at the Library program.
Eligible applicants are California public libraries classified as nonprofits or public agencies. Libraries must participate in the Lunch at the Library program and submit approved applications.
