This program funds conservation projects that protect and restore ecosystems to improve climate adaptation and resilience for wildlife. Projects must align with California’s climate strategies, including the Safeguarding California Plan and AB 32 carbon goals. Funding supports natural and working lands management practices that increase carbon sequestration and deliver social, economic, and environmental co-benefits.
Open to nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments. Matching funds are not required but can improve application scores.
