This grant provides compensation to livestock producers for direct losses (death or injury) caused by confirmed or probable wolf depredation in California. Applicants must have documented incidents after July 1, 2024. The program encourages consultation to implement nonlethal deterrent methods to mitigate future wolf-livestock conflicts. Funding is ongoing with no geographic restrictions within California.
Eligible applicants include businesses, individuals, nonprofits, other legal entities, public agencies, and tribal governments with confirmed or probable wolf depredation on livestock after July 1, 2024, documented by CDFW.
